Principles

Our AI principles.

Five plain rules govern AI in Alhora. They are not policy promises you have to take on trust — they are how the product is built.

  1. Your words

    Alhora's AI never writes your book.

    Inkia, the guide built into Alhora, helps you run the app — finding a setting, walking you through a step, carrying out a command you ask for. It works on your book, never in your prose: it does not write sentences for you. There is no compose feature to switch on: not hidden behind a setting, not reserved for a higher plan. It does not exist.

  2. Your approval

    You approve every change.

    Nothing changes your manuscript on its own. Inkia says what it is about to do before it does it, each change is one step you approve, and a snapshot is taken first — so you can see exactly what changed and undo it at any time.

  3. Your privacy

    Your manuscript is never used for training.

    Inkia's guides and commands run inside the app, on your machine. Alhora sells no AI checks, so there is no service your chapters are sent to for one. Your words are never used to train any model — not by us, and not by anyone we work with.

    When Inkia cannot help or an action fails, the request you typed and basic failure details are automatically sent to our private Operations queue. You can also rate suggested jobs with thumbs up or thumbs down; the rating and request help us improve them. Requests are bounded and common identifiers are redacted, but may contain book details. Your manuscript and chat history are never attached, and local-only tool requests are excluded. Reports support human review and improvements to rules and tests; they are not automatically used to train a model. See our privacy policy for the details.

  4. Your record

    Your books carry no trace of it.

    Nothing about Inkia or AI is embedded in your exported books. The EPUB and PDF you publish contain your words and your design, and nothing else.

    Alhora works fully without AI.

    Every core feature — import, typesetting, validation, export, publishing — is complete without AI. There is no AI add-on to buy: the book-formatting tool is the whole product, not a preview of one.

When you publish

Assisted is not generated

The distinction matters when you publish. Some stores — Amazon KDP among them — require publishers to disclose AI-generated content, while AI-assisted editing of an author's own work is treated differently under their current guidelines. Alhora is designed to keep your book your work: every word in it is yours. Store policies are the stores' to set and they can change, so review the current policy of each store you publish on and decide how it applies to your book.
